The discontinuous centrifugal concentrator was developed by YUNTIN GROUP  Co., Ltd. in 1964, so it is also called Yunxi centrifugal concentrator. It began to be applied in industry in 1966 and became the symbol of China's centrifugal beneficiation technology. In terms of the single-machine processing capability of the equipment, it has achieved certain effects, but it still does not solve the problems of large water consumption, low enrichment ratio and continuous operation.;

In the 1980s,the i Company developed a countercurrent continuous centrifugal concentrator, which solved the problem that the control mechanism of the traditional intermittent centrifuge was ineffective and the movement was not coordinated. The disadvantage of the countercurrent continuous centrifugal concentrator is that the sorting time of the material in the drum is too short, the sorting effect is poor, and the water and electricity unit consumption is significantly larger than that of the intermittent centrifuge, which limits its popularization and application.


At present, there are such  centrifugal concentrators on the market as  STL water jacket centrifugal concentrator, centrifugal disc concentrator and centrifugal gold conic concentrator, but it is mostly used for the selection of gold mines, and all belong to intermittent centrifuges, of very Low and limited scope on application


Vertical centrifugal concentrators that have been developed outside of China, including Knelson centrifugal concentrators and Falcon centrifugal concentrators, can achieve low water consumption and high enrichment ratio while continuous operation, and have been widely used in the ore dressing industry at home and abroad. However, due to the long service cycle and high cost of after-sales service and parts replacement, the equipment cost and maintenance cost of enterprise users  haven been  greatly increased.

First, the grade of the target mineral or tailings is very low, such process as gravity - flotation or gravity - CIL/CIP  recycling, the gravity process contains Mercury amalgamation, chute, jigging and so on. Mercury has a great threat to the environment and the health of workers; the recovery rate of chutes and jigging is very low

these all bring a lot of inconvenience to business users. In addition, as the coarse and medium minerals  are not well recovered in gravity section, the effect of latter flotation process on their recovery is also poor. Some of them are lost in the tailings, reducing the recovery rate. Therefore, the use of a swirling centrifuge concentrator instead of  mercury, chute, jigging, shaking table and other equipment is an option to improve the process and improve efficiency.
